About
The project is a collaboration to promote Catholic biblical literacy locally in San Antonio, Texas, and beyond by way of the internet. We believe the treasure of scripture and its interpretation should be shared beyond our college and seminary classrooms. With the generous support of our funding partners (below), all workshops and resources are offered free of charge. We hope to make the joy of scripture easily accessible to all the curious faithful, especially young adults, catechists, lectors, homilists, and parish study groups.
Schedule
January 24, 2021, The Sunday of the Word of God
Our inaugural work celebrates the Sunday of the Word of God. Social distancing does not allow an in-person workshop. Rather, a video introduces the project, some fundamentals of Catholic biblical interpretation, and the readings for the Sunday of the Word of God. The video will be available here at least a week in advance of January 24, 2021.
May 1, 2021, Scripture for The Month of Mary
Our first in-person event celebrates the month of Mary. The Oblate Grotto will provide plenty of space and fresh air for everyone’s health and safety. Registration through EventBrite is now open. A video based on the event will be available online May 8.
This short video from the Feast of the Annunciation previews some of the images and interpretation that will be included in our May 1 workshop. YouTube
October 2021, Scripture for Today’s World
The October event will speak especially to young adults from the issues in scripture most relevant today. The event will be on the campus of St. Mary’s University.
December 2021, Scripture for Advent
The advent workshop will help parish groups start the year with a renewed commitment to scripture and continuing study.
