Merry Christmas – Feliz Navidad from MACC!

Cohort partners will gain a better understanding of the immigration experience, as well as of the poverty that exists along the southern border.

The Mexican American Catholic College (MACC) is partnering with Loyola University Chicago and leading Catholic institutions nationwide through the new CENTERS initiative, a collaboration supported by a $10 million Lilly Endowment grant. This multi‑institution effort strengthens synodal leadership, active listening, and pastoral formation across the Church. Through CENTERS, MACC will help advance ministerial training, regional formation programs, and innovative approaches to synodality that support a more participatory Catholic community.

MACC has received a grant of $6,290,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. for Ministry in Rural Areas and Small Towns.

Fr. Patella will present his talk: “Revitalization of Imagination in Biblical Exegesis: The Saint John’s Bible, Art and the Hispanic Legacy” in the Alfaro Hall at 5:30pm Thursday, February 22nd, 2024.

A follow up talk with Dr. Robert O’ Connor of St. Mary’s University will take place on Monday, February 26th at 5:30PM at MACC.

Dr. Hansol Goo will present “Heavenly Queen and Earthly Mother: Typologies of the Virgin Mary in Art” in the Alfaro Hall Classroom at 5:30pm Thursday, February 27th, 2025 as MACC’s Cultura Católica Day Speaker.

Fr. Anthony Ruff, O.S.B. will present “Receiving Communion: It’s More
Than You Might Think!” at St. John Hall at Assumption Seminary at 5:30pm Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 as MACC’s Cultura Católica Day Speaker.
