At MACC, the classroom experience reflects a distinctive approach to learning, missionary discipleship, community, and formation. As a school of ministry and leadership, MACC offers coursework in core disciplines of Philosophy, Theology, and Sacred Scripture which many students complete at the undergraduate level.
A majority of students enrolled at MACC in their journey of discernment pursue one of our short-term academic certificates in Pastoral Ministry (18-54 credit hours). These credentials may be completed in 3-5 years of part-time study — which permits a low-cost approach to adult learning; face-to-face, online, or hybrid coursework; and evening class schedules for those with an active parish ministry, work obligations, and family life.
For students who complete general studies requirements, MACC also offers pathways to an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry, offered in collaboration with our institutional partner at the University of the Incarnate Word. At the graduate level, students may complete the Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry with several concentrations available.
Please enjoy the content on these pages as a preview of the academic life at MACC, which is rooted not only in the Catholic intellectual tradition but also reflects a living witness of the Church here in San Antonio.
